The next few weeks .....
Over the next few weeks we are going to be looking at the 6 books that have been shortlisted for Book Week 2014 in the Picture Book Category.
The Picture Book category always creates a lot of interest because the books appeal to all ages. These are the books that are remembered for a long time to come. Remember The Rules of Summer (2014), A Bus Called Heaven (2012), Mirror and Hamlet (Joint winners 2011) and The Hero of Little Street (2010)? It is an awesome award that all picture book authors and illustrators aspire to be selected for and win, of course!
The picture books chosen are all different. However they all have some things in common. Can you think what makes a good picture book? Have a chat with your teacher about the things that the judges look for when they are selecting books for this category.
